At this time of year perhaps more than any other, we are grateful for Peachtree Residential new and current home owners as well as referrals.  We are thankful for how successful many Peachtree Residential neighborhoods have been and in particular The Hampshire’s in Milton.  It has been selling quickly and we SOLD all our inventory homes, but have more underway.  Seven  new homes SOLD in 90 days at The Hampshire’s in Milton!  It’s truly a great place to live!   You need to stop by and visit Debbie Ustrud to see how beautiful the community really is.  The two new home starts both have gorgeous keeping rooms and sit on beautiful wooded acreage in Milton.  The Hampshire’s is an established community of 60 home sites with swim and tennis.

The holiday season is here and this year there is a great deal to be thankful for in the “home builder land”. The market is looking up again and new home starts are up and inventories are down in many areas. In fact according to Community Profiles, home prices are rising amid sharp declines in number of homes for sale, existing homes are selling at the highest rate since 2007, home inventories are at the lowest level in a decade and 1/3 of homes sold in October had been on the market for less than a month. That is all great news for the housing industry. 

Speaking of good news…Peachtree Residential was able to donate $4065 towards It’s The Journey Inc. for the 2 day walk here in Atlanta.  They helped to join the battle against breast cancer in October and recently presented the check to Glenn Martin, the board chair for “It’s The Journey”, and donated $4065.   The Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer helps take steps that battle against local breast cancer, such as providing education, screening, early detection, treatment, and support services throughout the state.  The money was raised from selling new homes in October and new “Like’s” on the Peachtree Residential facebook page in October as well.

The holidays are near! The AJC homefinder  provided “5 tips for holiday decor” on Sunday November 11, 2012,  that may give your home curb appeal during the holidays.  Wreaths, lights and other holiday decor add a festive look to the front of homes. Local experts shared tips for decorating outdoors for the holidays. Light up the entryway with lanterns or hurricane globes with flameless LED and battery operated candles around walkways and steps to the front door.  It is inviting and draws you to the home.  Add a spotlight to bring attention to a wreath on a door.  Bring in burlap to create bows and wreaths as a natural textured element. Use live greenery on the front porch and then plant them after the holidays. Create a vignette on your front porch with poinsettias or other holiday decoration in a old cart or wheelbarrow. Customize a wreath with a theme to reflect your favorite seasonal items.  Happy decorating!

Johns Creek Arts Festival is this weekend, October 27 & 28, 2012.  100 whimsical and colorful artisans will be there! The festival will be located on the picturesque green space across from the Atlanta Athletic Club on Medlock Bridge Road. There will be live entertainment, creative fun at the kidz zone, tasty food, pet parade, kids costume march, Georgia/ Florida game broadcast, Johns Creek Symphony Concert and fireworks following the concert. The festival is hosted by The City of Johns Creek, Johns Creek Convention and Visitors Bureau, Arts on the Creek, State Bank, The Pink Plumber and Emory Johns Creek Hospital. The national housing market continues to recover, indicated by consistent increases in both home sales and prices.  Homes sales this month rose 7.8% from last month according to the real estate report that Keller Williams put out for October.   Inventories in much of the US are primarily balanced, however large pockets of the country are experiencing inventory shortages.  Some buyers are frustrated with mortgage availability and sales would be 10-15% stronger if the financially qualified buyers could obtain financing per NAR President Moe Veissi.  With the housing market coming close to a full recovery and mortgage rates hitting new record lows, the time to buy now.  The month of October shows mortgage rates around 3.49% which means home buyer affordability remains high for home buyers who buy now while rates are low.

Great News to share…Fall season is starting tomorrow, Saturday, September 22,  and good news in the media this week regarding the housing recovery blossoming.  According to the National Association of Realtors Nationally, housing starts are up 29% from a year ago and permits rose 24.1% compared to August 2011.  Sales from previous occupied homes climbed 7.8% from a year ago.  All great signs of a strengthening US housing industry!
