Johns Creek Is State’s Wealthiest City

It’s not even 3 years old, but Johns Creek has been ranked the wealthiest city in Georgia and the 95th wealthiest city in the nation.
Using census data, the company Bizjournals compared income level, home size and value, number of cars owned, education and other factors to rank Georgia cities.
Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker said he was proud but not surprised by the ranking for the bedroom community of about 70,000 people. “It’s a nice acknowledgement of the great things we’ve got going in Johns Creek,” he said Monday.
The median household income in Johns Creek is $108,416 and the average home price is $335,900. Bizjournals said almost 40 percent of the homes have nine or more rooms and
5 percent of the city’s households have four or more cars.
Arlington, Va., was ranked the wealthiest city in the nation and Brownsville, Texas, the poorest.

Resort Spa and Wellness Center Designer Robert Langdon Chooses Peachtree Residential at Sterling on the Lake as Home

May 1, 2008 -ATLANTA – As a Resort Spa and Wellness Center designer, Peachtree Residential homeowner Robert “Dean” Langdon often passed the entrance to Sterling on the Lake, an Atlanta new home community, while researching land for projects. Langdon states, “One day I decided to stop in, and I fell in love with the models and the general ‘feel’ of the area.”
Prior to his March 2008 move, Langdon had called Florida home for more than 40 years. The timing of the move coincided with the start of several resort projects in the area, and he felt that it was time to make a change.
Working with Sales Manager Debbie Ustrud at Peachtree Residential made the transaction even easier. Ustrud ensured that Langdon found a homesite that he loved and the perfect floorplan, the Brunswick “E.” Langdon comments, ”Coming from South Florida, where we don’t have basements, third story retreats or an abundance of three car garages, the plan was perfect for me.”
With Peachtree Residential, a luxury builder in Atlanta, the building experience was equally positive. He continues, “Daryl Dennis was my builder, and this was probably the best experience I have ever had with a builder. Between Debbie and Daryl, the home was a joy to work on, and we all got to experiment with new ideas.”
As a spa designer working with four and five star hotels, Langdon wanted to incorporate a spa experience and hydrotherapy (the use of healing water therapies) into the master bath. By reworking the floorplan in the master bedroom and bath, the team was able to include an incredible experience, a Swiss shower. The 6’w x8’d x7’h tumbled marble shower features two 10″ overhead rain heads, two Swiss shower bars with four heads each, chromotherapy lighting (LED lights that change thru the seven Chakra colors), steam, aromatherapy (essential oils diffused throughout the steam process) and marine speakers.
Other luxurious touches were incorporated through out the Atlanta new home including professional GE Monogram® kitchen appliances, and a custom-designed outside porch with a split level deck, fire pit, arched columns and large timbers. Langdon states,”We used as much Fieldstone as we could from the exterior, to the front porch, to the island and Tuscan arch separating the kitchen from the great room.”
The enhanced guest bath includes a custom sink table with a Travertine vessel sink, a frameless glass shower enclosure, and 18″ tile laid on the diagonal.
The home’s three car garage was added with a finished third story retreat which will be Langdon’s design area and office. He adds, “From my office, I have inspirational views all the way down to the lake.”
“Anything I threw at Daryl, he came back in spades with enhanced ideas and further input.” A custom built-in cabinet to house a wet bar and 46″ plasma TV for the master bedroom with a floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace gives the home a nice finishing touch.
When asked if he would consider building another home with Peachtree Residential or refer them to a friend, Langdon responds with an overwhelming, “Yes!”
