Home prices have been rising for 3 months, but nobody has been telling you according to John Burns Real Estate Consulting in a recent March issue.  Prices are up in 90 of the 97 markets they analyzed and the price increased 1.1 % in the last 3 months.  More markets have turned positive recently, showing appreciation over the last month!

Builders report that the extra expense of constructing a high-performance home is now 7%, as compared with 10% in 2008 and 11% in 2006.

• Set your thermostat to 68 degrees or lower.
• Install a programmable thermostat and use it wisely to save on heating costs.  
• Check your HVAC air filters monthly and change as needed.

• Reverse the direction on your ceiling fans in the winter (clockwise position) to redirect the warm air from the ceiling level back into the room
